AmperWave Podcasting provides a full content management and monetization system for on-demand episodic content (shows) and generates revenue through real-time ad insertion. Ads are inserted as pre-, mid-, or post-rolls at the time of request, so only current and relevant ads are used. Content and ads are stitched into a single file and delivered to the user, creating a seamless experience.
The System Structure
AmperWave Podcasting primarily consists of four nested units: the account (or network), content producers, shows, and episodes.
Account/Network
This is the top level, usually a network consisting of one or more stations.
Some examples:
- SL Media owns several radio stations, each with unique content.
- XYZ South has several content sources, each with multiple shows.
- The Caper is a single source with two shows.
Content Producer
Content producers are the next level down from the account/network. A content producer may be a radio show, program, or particular radio host working for the account/network.
Some examples:
- SL Media's WXYZ and WQQQ
- XYZ South's Mike Jones and Dr. Joann Smith
- The Caper's "This Week's Caper" and "The Castle"
Show
Content producers' material is organized into shows.
Some examples:
- SL Media's WXYZ has several shows, including Drivetime PM and Lunchtime Chat.
- XYZ South's Mike Jones has two shows, "Retirement and You" and "Money Matters."
- The Caper's "This Week's Caper" has two shows, "This Week's Caper" and "Behind This Week's Caper"
Episode
Episodes are the fundamental unit in AmperWave Podcasting, and are contained by shows. Episodes are where AmperWave Podcasting inserts ads and what users download.
Some examples:
- Every day, "Drivetime PM" posts a new episode after the show airs on terrestrial radio.
- Mike Jones posts an episode of "Retirement and You" twice a month.
- This Week's Caper posts new episodes of both "This Week's Caper" and "Behind This Week's Caper" once a week.
All Together
To put some of the above examples together:
- SL Media owns several radio stations, each with unique content. One of those stations is WXYZ, which produces Drivetime PM. New episodes of Drivetime PM are released after they air on terrestrial radio.
